Jayananda was born in England and was raised in a small Sussex village. As an adult she developed a passion for yoga and her yoga quest led her to the teachings of Paramahansa Swami Satyananda Saraswati,who rapidly became her inspiration and her Guru. Swami Satyananda initiated her as Swami Jayananda Saraswati in 1980 and she has now been teaching and studying yoga for 40 over years.
